My name is Jeff and I love food – all kinds of food. Eating, cooking, just looking at good food gets me excited. It really can be an orgasmic experience. You just have to be open to anything – have no reservations.
I’m a 19 year-old currently living in the Jackson Heights area of Queens in New York City. After leaving the pursuit of a standard academic career and taking a year off from school to think about things, I’ve decided to pursue a career in the restaurant industry. Right now, I’m in the application process and will hopefully be attending the Culinary Institute of America in Fall ’09. I intend to share this journey with you, along with my daily culinary adventures. I hope you enjoy what I post here – whether it be restaurant reviews, recipes or updates on my life in culinary school. Either way, thanks for reading and always feel free to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org
As of right now, I work at a well-known NYC bakery, where I am a shift manager. I have two years prior experience in the “quick-casual” foodservice industry and I’m seeking employment in a New York City restaurant kitchen (to fulfill the CIA’s 6-month back of the house requirement.) I’ve been in contact with people at Fig & Olive as well as an executive at Danny Meyer’s Union Square Hospitality Group (Gramercy Tavern, Union Square Cafe, Eleven Madison Park.) Hopefully, I’ll get a response soon regarding my request.
Stay tuned for more!
